IT skills always came in handy during the eclectic mix of industries Jamilya Ramos-Chapman has worked in. Virtual meetings, hardware and software troubleshooting, and technical consultation were an integral part of daily tasks carried out by Jamilya. Today those skills contribute to her success as an IT Director for ECPAT-USA, which includes responsibilities such as providing technical support to all staff and affiliates, managing eLearning course distribution and administration, and the digital production of webinars with up to 500 registered guests.
She was born and raised in Bombay and has travelled widely. She has been telling stories for over 30 years. She grew up surrounded by stories told to her by her mother and aunts.
After a degree in Drama she got a job as s storyteller and toured for many years. Since then she has worked in arts organisations and businesses helping people to tell their stories. She established Settle Stories in 2010 and has just launched Storyersity that enables learners to tell stories so they can make a difference.
